Shane Summersford nominated for Club Coach of the Year

Penrith baseball coach Shane Summersford has been recognised for his work and commitment across two clubs, nominated as a diamond awards finalist by Baseball Australia.

Summersford joined the Penrith Club last year, and spent three years prior to that coaching at Marrickville, winning a grand final.

The national under-25s coach has been nominated for Club Coach of the Year, alongside two other coaches, from Queensland and Western Australia.

Baseball star Trent Oeltjen passing on professional experience
 
Trent Oeltjen has been everywhere man and is now looking to share some of his 14 years of professional baseball experience with the Penrith Baseball Club.

The 31-year-old outfielder made his Major League Baseball debut in 2009 for the Arizona Diamondbacks, played for the LA Dodgers and won a silver medal at the Olympics with the Australian team in 2004.

Penrith Panthers face Sydney Blue Sox in baseball exhibition match

The Penrith Panthers State League took on the Sydney Blue Sox in an exhilarating exhibition game which ended in a 2-2 tie on Saturday.

The game was very much a pitching duel with the Panthers side featuring current and potential Blue Sox players.
